FCSO theft 1

December 17, 2021 - Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 22-year-old Israel Guerrero (pictured below right) and 24-year-old Joseph Martinez (pictured below left), both of Fresno. These men have since been released from the Fresno County Jail. Guerrero posted bond and Martinez was released on a federal court order, which is a measure that’s in place to prevent jail overcrowding from occurring.

Shortly after midnight on December 11th, a Fresno County Sheriff’s deputy noticed an erratic driver in a red 1994 Honda Accord. The deputy attempted to stop the driver, but he refused and lead the deputy on a pursuit. The suspect was traveling at speeds over 90 mph near Gettysburg and Chestnut in Fresno. Fresno Police’s helicopter, Air 1, got overhead and followed the car to Shaw and Palm. There, two women got out of the car and ran away. The driver, Israel Guerrero, continued on and eventually spun out near Marks and Dakota. Two men got out and ran. Deputies converged and were able to take both men, Guerrero and Martinez, into custody. The women were not captured. Inside the Honda were several stolen items. A list including: Headphones, hoverboards, alcohol, makeup and toys.

Anyone with information about the people or items involved in this case is asked to please contact the Sheriff’s Office at (559) 600-3111 or Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-7867, www.valleycrimestoppers.org You will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward. Reference case #21-14287.
