December 26, 2021 - Merced – The Merced Police Department reports on December 25, 2021 Officer Tucker Zazueta was dispatched to 650 W. 18th St. regarding the possible brandishing of a firearm.
Officers went to the top floor of the parking structure where numerous cars tend to meet. Officer Zazueta observed the barrel of a shotgun sticking out from underneath the seat of one of the vehicles.
The owner of the vehicle, Emanuel Evans Sims,21, was on scene and stated the car was his. He was detained and gave consent to remove the firearm. A second handgun was located underneath the floor mat to the driver seat. The victim identified another subject, Jorge Alvarez,18, as the subject who brandished the firearm. The suspects were cited and released; the guns were seized.
