June 17, 2015 - SACRAMENTO - Assemblyman Frank Bigelow, R- O’Neals, today issued the following statement after Governor Brown signed into law his bill (AB 475) ratifying the gaming compact negotiated between the State of California and the Jackson Rancheria Band of Miwuk Indians:

“This bill provides the framework for the Miwuk Tribe to share its gaming revenue with Amador County and other local jurisdictions for infrastructure improvements. This will benefit local fire departments, law enforcement, public transit, education, tourism and other services,” Assemblyman Bigelow said.

“The compact will also provide incentives for investments in renewable energy projects, non-gaming related economic development projects and health care facilities that provide a mutual benefit to the Tribe and the local community. Jackson Rancheria is the largest employer and job creator in Amador County and I was honored to author the bill to ensure that they can continue doing business in our communities for decades to come,” Assemblyman Bigelow said.
Lifelong rancher and former Madera District Fair Board Member Frank Bigelow proudly represents the 5th Assembly District, which encompasses Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, El Dorado, Madera, Mariposa, Mono, Placer, and Tuolumne counties and includes Lake Tahoe and Yosemite National Park.
