Update on 1/25/22: Wanted Child Sex Offender from Merced Has Been Located and Arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service
January 7, 2022 - Merced – On April 9, 2021, Merced PD Officers took two separate reports regarding the continuous sexual abuse of children. Timothy Andrew Reedy AKA Timothy Cortez (34) of Merced was immediately identified as the suspect. Reedy is also a convicted sex offender who is in violation for failure to register.
Detective Samuel Sannadan worked with the Merced County District Attorney’s Office to get charges filed against Reedy. Detectives have made several attempts to locate Reedy but were unsuccessful. Reedy’s exact whereabouts are unknown. It is believed that Reedy may be hiding out in the Sacramento area or that he fled to Georgia.
Reedy currently has a $1,000,000 warrant for oral copulation of a child 10 years or younger, lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14, continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14 and sodomy of a minor.
