The Central California Animal Disaster Team is also on scene at both shelter sites providing lodging, food, water, and comfort for domestic pets.Approximately 75 people are currently in the Sierra Vista shelter where Red Cross volunteers are providing lodging, meals, hygiene kits, and comfort. The majority of shelter clients are employees from the nearby Calvin Crest camp.
The Red Cross continues to work closely with government and community partners to ensure the comfort and safety of all impacted residents.
“Red Cross staff and volunteers continue to meet the growing needs of these two wildfires,” said Executive Director Barry Falke, “We continue to urge all residents in affected areas to adhere immediately to evacuation orders from local enforcement.”
