June 19, 2015 - Sacramento – Senator Tom Berryhill (R-Twain Harte) issued the following statement on passage of the state budget and follow-up trailer bills:
“My priorities, like the governor’s, are education, saving for a rainy day and paying down debt. While not perfect, this budget does reflect those goals and was substantially smaller than the budget we voted on earlier this week.
“Disheartening was the absence of investment in the priorities shared by all Californians - our aging transportation infrastructure, and building up our water supply with additional surface storage. The needs of the entire state seem to be blatantly ignored in favor of projects that benefit the interests of urban and coastal elites.”
