January 23, 2022 - MERCED- The Merced Police Department reports officers arrested Branden Gonzales,22, for gang member/felon possession of a firearm & ammunition and active participation in a criminal street gang.
On Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 8:57 P.M., Officer Arturo Gaona investigated suspicious gang activity inside the Merced Cemetery at the 1400 block of B Street. He detained Mr. Gonzales after a brief foot pursuit and discovered a loaded firearm that was discarded on the cemetery grounds.
He was arrested for several illegal weapon charges and gang enhancements. He was booked into custody at the Merced County Jail.
