January 25, 2022 - STOCKTON — The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform an emergency Director’s Order to remove potentially hazardous trees damaged by the recent winter storm that brought exceptionally high snow amounts and wind gusts to the Sierra Nevada.

Crews will work along State Route 140 in Mariposa County from Hummingbird Lane to State Route 49 North from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. beginning Tuesday, January 25, through Thursday, January 27, and from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 28, 2022.

One-way traffic control will be employed, and motorists should expect 10-minute delays and take alternate routes whenever possible.

The estimated $1,920,000 project was awarded to Sierra Mountain Construction Inc. of Sonora, CA, and is expected to continue until spring 2022.

This work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment, and/or materials and construction related issues.

For the safety of workers and other motorists, please Be Work Zone Alert.
