Update: 7:50 P.M. Remains at 500 acres with 60% containment
SNF Type 3 Organization will shadow SCSIIMT tomorrow in preparation to assume command 06/24
Crews made progress with fire line suppression repair work during day operations today. Resource Advisors from the Forest Service identified the extent of suppression repair needed. Those repairs can vary depending upon the intended use of the affected area after the fire. Resource Advisors identify natural and cultural resources which may have been impacted during the Sky Fire.
Sky Ranch Road remains closed as fire crews work on removing hazard trees; also due to large fire equipment travelling and working along the road.
Firefighting resources, such as engines and crews, continue to be released from the Sky Fire and sent to other fires in California. The public is reminded that a lot of firefighting equipment will be traveling on local roads going into the Sky Fire area and others will be leaving the community heading to other incidents.
The Sky Ranch road remains closed as are all roads leading into the fire area until further notice.
The following campgrounds remained closed:
-Camp Redwood
-Soqul Campground
-Nelder Grove Campground
-Grays Mountain
-Chilkoot Campground

6:34 A.M. Update: Sierra National Forest says Sky Fire is now 60% contained and remains at 500 acres with no expected fire growth.
8:38 A.M. Update: As fire activity decreases, crews will focus their efforts on fire line suppression repair work. Resource Advisors from the Forest Service will identify the extent of suppression repair needed. Those repairs can vary depending upon the intended use of the affected area after the fire. Resource Advisors identify natural and cultural resources which may have been impacted during the Sky Fire. Fire crews continue to patrol the fire perimeter and extinguish hot spots and small areas of open flame within the fire perimeter.
