February 8, 2022 - Washington – The National Park Service and National Desert Storm War Memorial Association, in cooperation with the National Capital Planning Commission, are seeking public comment on the National Desert Storm and Desert Shield Memorial Environmental Assessment. Public comments will be accepted for a 30-day period beginning Monday, February 7, 2022. Comments are being accepted through the project website through March 8.

The National Desert Storm and Desert Shield Memorial will honor the members of the Armed Forces who served in support of Operation Desert Storm and Operation Desert Shield and is proposed for the southwest corner of the intersection of 23rd Street NW and Constitution Avenue NW. The Environmental Assessment describes two alternatives for the memorial, including one action alternative and the no action alternative, and analyzes the environmental consequences of implementing each alternative.
