Cousin Jack’s Mariposa Evenings - brought to you by The Mariposa County Arts Council and its many fine sponsors – continues into the forth weekend of thirteen, presenting The Jespersons on Friday, June 27, and The Redding Bros. Band on Saturday, June 28.

The Jespersons 1The Jespersons

Performing original Neo/World Folk Americana music, The Jespersons sing and play in an “around the campfire” style found in Australia, homeland of half of the duo, Kaye Jesperson. She and multi-instrumentalist husband Jared are adding extra members to create a full band experience for this performance. Songs and stories are shared with the audience that make the experience fun for the whole family in a folky, community way.

The Redding BrothersThe Redding Bros. Band

The Redding Family has deep roots in the local music scene; a heritage spanning decades, with The Redding Bros. Band being the most current exponant. Blue collar working men by day, musicians by night, the band will take the audience back in time, performing hits from the 60s and 70s, with the distinct chance of other family members and friends sitting in to expand the show.

More on each of these groups can be found on their web &/or facebook page.

All performances begin at 7 p.m. at the Mariposa County Art Park, located on Hwy. 140, between 4th and 5th Streets, in historic downtown Mariposa, CA. Free parking on 5th Street along the Creek Walkway to the Park, also providing handicapped access.

The shows are free to the public – tips for the performers will be solicited, encouraged, and appreciated.

The Mariposa Arts Council, sponsor of Cousin Jack's Mariposa Evenings, is funded in part by Mariposa County, the California Arts Council, and the National Endowment for the Arts.

The MARIPOSA COUNTY ARTS COUNCIL, INC. is an incorporated not-for- profit organization, created to promote and support all forms of the cultural arts, for all ages, throughout Mariposa County.
