February 24, 2022 - Merced – Merced Police Department Gang Unit reports arrest of a suspect in possession of narcotics for sale. On Wednesday, February 23, 2022, the Merced Police Departments Gang Violence Suppression Unit and the Disruptive Area Response Team followed up on information regarding Anthony Tellez,45, in possession narcotics for sale. A search warrant was served in the 1400 block of Louise Ave. The search revealed approximately 250 grams of Cocaine, Fentanyl, Heroin and Methamphetamine.

Tellez was arrested for sales of narcotics.

The Merced Superior Court currently has set a “zero bail” for this offense due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Officers were not able to obtain a bail increase from the court, so Tellez was cited and released.
