February 27, 2022 - MERCED- The Merced Police Department reports officers are investigating a shooting at The Hanger BBQ, at 26 MacReady Dr.

On Saturday, February 26th at 12:13 A.M., Merced PD officers responded to The Hanger BBQ for gunshots fired in the establishment.

The establishment was hosting a dance party for college students. A fight broke out and an unknown suspect pointed a firearm towards the ceiling and discharged the weapon multiple times.

The gunfire caused a panic and the crowd quickly dispersed. Thankfully, nobody was injured. The suspect fled the scene and ran north on MacReady Dr. Officers arrived quickly but were not able to locate the suspect.

The suspect was described as a young adult, wearing a light grey sweatshirt, and light colored denim jeans. Attached below is a still frame photo of the suspect.
