April 13, 2022 – Mariposa, CA – John C. Fremont Healthcare District today announced that it has received an overall rating of four out of five stars from Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

The four-star rating is an improvement compared to last year and is a result of the District’s commitment of giving patients access to high-quality healthcare services to help them improve their health and wellbeing.

As per Medicare & Medicaid, the overall star rating is based on how well a hospital performs across different areas of quality, such as treating heart attacks and pneumonia, readmission rates, and safety of care.

"Our four-star Rating is a tremendous achievement and reinforces our teams’ hard work and commitment to provide high quality care to those we serve on a daily basis,” said Kristen Fournier, John C. Fremont Healthcare District’s Quality Manager.

“It is common for people to look at restaurant and hotel ratings, however, as patients are taking more interest in their own care, quality care ratings are looked at,” said Ms. Fournier.

Star ratings are calculated each year using a scale of one to five stars, and may change from year to year. The annual Medicare Star Ratings are posted online at www.medicare.gov.
