April 19, 2022 - Modesto, CA - Patrol deputies with the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office made an armed robbery arrest Tuesday morning shortly after a salon worker reported being held up by a stanislaus county sheriffs office logoman wielding a knife demanding cash.

On April 19, 2022, at 10:37 a.m., a clerk working at the TK Salon located at 1765 Crows Landing Road, called to say a masked and armed intruder came into the business demanding an undisclosed amount of cash.

The clerk was knocked to the ground in the process, sustained minor injuries and then provided emergency dispatchers and call-takers with a description of who had robbed the salon.

As the armed robbery suspect fled the area driving a BMW, patrol deputies began to immediately check the area looking for their suspect.  Approximately thirty minutes later, a vehicle matching the description was located near the intersection of Dallas and E. Whitmore Ave. in Modesto.

Armando Calderon Ayala, 29, of Modesto was stopped trying to flee the immediate area.  Through their follow-up investigation, deputies were able to positively identify Ayala as the armed robbery suspect.  He later admitted to his own involvement as well.  Some of the stolen property was also returned to its rightful owner.

Ayala was then booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for armed robbery charges in lieu of $50,000 bail.  The booking photograph was not immediately available at the writing of this press release.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guiltily in a court of law.
