April 19, 2022 - Modesto, Ca - 18-year-old Modesto resident James Ganjeh was arrested in relation to multiple shootings in the east part of the county. He was safely taken into custody by SCSO Ganjehmembers of the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) and Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at about 10:00 p.m., in the 1700 block of Albers Rd., where Ganjeh resided.

Ganjeh was shooting at passing motorists in the past few weeks in the area of Albers Road between Dusty Lane and Milnes Road. Fortunately, nobody was injured in any of the shootings. Victims were initially unable to provide enough detail to narrow the search for the shooter. During the most recent incident occurring on Friday afternoon, the victim was able to give additional information to investigators that led them to Ganjeh.

Detectives obtained search and arrest warrants for Ganjeh and his home. When they attempted to arrest Ganjeh, he tried to escape, but taken into custody. He later admitted to his involvement in all the incidents. A handgun was located that is believed to have been used in the shootings.

We are happy this case had a safe outcome with nobody injured or killed. Ganjeh was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for willful discharge of a firearm in a negligent manner, shooting at an unoccupied motor vehicle, four counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling or vehicle, and four counts of assault with a firearm upon a person. He is being held in lieu of $1,050,000 bail.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
