Roxanne 4LDS Church at work on June 30, asks for community help with next clean-up of Roxanne Laing's property this Saturday, July 11

On June 18, 2015 the home of Roxanne Laing, on Usona Road, was burned to the ground. No people were in the home, but unfortunately all of her Rat Terrier dogs perished in the fire. Roxanne has been trying to haul debris away on her own and she sustained a knee injury lifting heavy metal objects that needed to be hauled to the dump.

On June 29 & 30 generous members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints helped Roxanne with her clean-up efforts. The church group had a workday to help with the removal of some large metal pieces from the burnt foundation.  The metal was put in an area of her property to be hauled away.

Roxanne can now sift through the ashes for any remaining keepsakes.  She has found a few precious photos of her and her late husband, Blaine. Roxanne’s late husband died from a rattlesnake bite at their home 10 years ago.

The LDS Church is asking for the community's help with the remaining clean-up for their next planned work day this Saturday, July 11 starting at 8 a.m.

Trucks, Pick-Up's and flatbeds are needed to haul away large metal pieces, and manpower is needed to get this work done as well.  Also, needed is anyone who is willing to help pile debris into garbage bags to be hauling away.  Anyone helping is asked to please wear old clothes and old shoes. Work gloves are encouraged.  Face masks will be provided.  Cold drinks will be available for the volunteers.
Roxanne 3 Roxanne had no insurance on her property.  She has no funds to rebuild.  Donations to help Roxanne can be deposited at Yosemite Bank in Mariposa.  You may send cards, letters and checks to: Roxanne Laing c/o John Holloway, 2429 Coachman Rd., Mariposa, CA. 95338.

For anyone wishing to donate, an online, a fund has been set-up for Roxanne at: www.plumfund.com/pf/gailholloway.
