April 22, 2022 – MERCED - Alma Montoya (25) was arrested on charges of possession of a stolen motor vehicle and burglary tools.

On Friday, April 22nd at 12:00 A.M., Officer Myles Richter located a stolen white Chevy truck traveling north on G Street near intersection with W. Olive Ave. He initiated a felony vehicle stop near Mercy Ave. and G Street. Both occupants were arrested without incident.

Officers searched the vehicle and located numerous tools and instruments commonly used to steal catalytic converters.

Montoya was arrested for possession of a stolen motor vehicle, burglary tools, and booked into custody at the Merced County Jail. The passenger was released from custody with no criminal charges pending.
