July 10, 2015 - CHP reports on Friday, July 10, 2015, at approximately 4:55 A.M., Wishon resident Carolyn J. Pinion, 60, was driving a 2005 Ford northbound on Road 223, south of Road 420 at approximately 55 mph. Carolyn Pinion drove her vehicle off the east road edge of Road 223, onto the east shoulder and subsequently collided into a raised dirt embankment.

After the initial collision, her vehicle veered off in a westerly direction, across both lanes of Road 223, and down a dirt embankment. The front end of her vehicle collided into and knocked down a tree, and came to rest after colliding into a large boulder.

After the collision, Carolyn Pinion remained trapped in the driver's seat of her vehicle. A passerby contacted emergency services upon noticing Carolyn Pinion's vehicle was involved in a collision.

The reporting party advised Carolyn Pinion was still trapped inside her vehicle and the vehicle was catching fire. Emergency services arrived on scene and extinguished the flames on the fully engulfed vehicle. Carolyn Pinion was extricated from the driver's seat of the vehicle and was later flown to Community Regional Medical Center - Fresno for treatment.
