This year's ABC Personal Best Award Winners: Sierra Buck, Lexie Erbe, Jasmine Fields, and Savannah Oliver
May 25, 2022 - New this year, ABC reached out to Mariposa County High School students with the opportunity to win Personal Best Awards.
To qualify, students were required to complete an application, including an essay and two letters of recommendation, one from a teacher from a core academic subject (English, Math, Science, History) and the second from either a teacher or an MCHS staff tutor or counselor.
In their applications, students had to explain how they have achieved significant academic growth during the school year, whether it be raising a failing grade to a passing grade, completing a credit recovery program, working with a teacher and/or tutor to bring up a grade by one full letter, or some other similar significant achievement toward a personal academic goal.
With the help of the MCHS Counseling Office, ABC scored the applications blindly; students' names were hidden from view.
Congratulations to this year's recipients (pictured above and below): Jasmine Fields, Sierra Buck, Savannah Oliver, and Lexie Erbe.
ABC congratulates them on the significant academic growth they made the past year and wishes them continued success.
ABC Board Chair Jill Harry delivered award certificates and $250 cash prizes to the students on Tuesday, May 24. They will be also honored at the high school's achievement night on Thursday, May 26.
