May 31, 2022 - Around 6:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 28th, Fresno County Sheriff’s Office dispatchers received a report of a man and a woman in a parked car who appeared to be injured. This was located on Van Ness Blvd. between Bullard and Barstow Avenues in Fresno. Deputies arrived and discovered both people in the vehicle suffered gunshot wounds and were deceased. They were later identified as a husband and wife; 87-year-old Richard Dillon and 76-year-old Claudia Dillon, both of Fresno. Richard is the suspected shooter.
Homicide detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office responded to begin an investigation. This was determined to be an isolated incident, classified as a murder – suicide.
