June 10, 2022 - The National Weather Service Hanford Office reports a significant warming trend will take afternoon highs well above average over the next couple of days.
Hot temperatures are expected today and tomorrow. Temperatures will be 100-106 in the San Joaquin Valley and 103 to 109 in the Kern County Desert area.
Please take caution while being outdoors this afternoon and Saturday afternoon.

Overnight lows in the upper 60s to upper 70s. * WHERE...San Joaquin Valley, lower Sierra Nevada foothills, lower Kern River Valley, and West Side Hills. * WHEN...From 11 AM Friday to 11 PM PDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...High heat will significantly increase the potential for heat related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities. Overnight lows in the warmest locations may provide little relief. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible.
