June 15, 2022 - El Monte, CA — The City of El Monte is saddened and shocked by Tuesday evenings tragic shooting that killed two of our own police officers. The El Monte Police Department
responded to a possible stabbing at the Siesta Inn and officers immediately took gunfire upon arrival. Two officers were struck and both officers were transported to LAC-USC Medical Center. LASD has taken over the investigation and we are actively participating in the investigation.
"There are no words to describe our grief and devastation by this senseless act as we learned about the passing of two of our police officers. It weighs heavy on our hearts and we are sending our support to their families.
