July 3, 2022 - By Desiree López, UC Merced - UC Merced continues to make history. The newest campus within the UC system has been ranked No. 25 in the 2022 Global Top 100 Most Innovative Universities by World's Universities with Real Impact (WURI.)
The campus was also ranked No. 8 for Industrial Application. The category acknowledges the institution's integrated curriculum, including location-based assignments and civic engagements in its global rotation cities.
Since 2020, the WURI has delivered seven lists highlighting the institutions that create the most value for society and the future — this is the first time UC Merced ranked.
WURI evaluates the university's fundamental contributions to society, highlighting creative and innovative approaches to universities' research and educational programs based on the following six categories:
- Industrial Application
- Value-Creating
- Social Responsibility
- Ethics and Integrity
- Student Mobility and Openness
- Crisis Management
- Fourth Industrial Revolution
WURI is the first global innovative university ranking created to stimulate and evaluate universities' flexible and creative efforts to foster a workforce that meets the demand of industry and society.
