July 25, 2022 - Merced – On Monday, July 25, 2022, at 2:15 A.M. Officer Drees was patrolling the area of W. Main St. & T St. when he observed a grey Nissan Altima doing “Donuts,” in the middle of the intersection. He attempted to stop the vehicle for the violation, but it continued a short distance failing to stop for the officer. The vehicle eventually pulled into the Motel 6 parking lot on V St. where the driver a (15) year old juvenile and was taken into custody. During a search of the vehicle an unregistered loaded firearm was located. While this was occurring the juveniles (17) year old brother arrived. He was angry that his brother was taken into custody without him and produced a suitcase containing a stolen loaded rifle. The (17) year old juvenile was also taken into custody. Both juveniles were on probation. Both were booked into the Merced county juvenile justice center for multiple firearm charges.
