August 7, 2022 - On Thursday evening Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Bellevue Road between Franklin and Highway 59 for a domestic incident. Reports indicated that Jose Nuno Jr. was wearing body armor and armed with a rifle. When Deputies arrived, they learned that Nuno pointed the firearm at two adult females and a baby. While Deputies were talking to one of the victims, Nuno came out of the house carrying a newborn baby. Deputies discovered that he has a felony warrant for elder abuse and discharging a firearm. Deputies removed the baby from his arms and began to place him in handcuffs. At that time, a juvenile tried to intervene and was ultimately arrested.
During the investigation, our STAR Team obtained a search warrant to search the residence. Inside the home they found seven firearms, a plate carrier, and body armor. STAR Team also located an indoor marijuana grow inside a shop on the property. They removed 1,500 pounds of processed marijuana. Our patrol Deputies and STAR Team did an excellent job on this case. Their efforts helped remove another criminal from our community.
