August 9, 2022 - Detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office have booked 25-year-old Brandon Roque of Madera into the Fresno County Jail. He is being held on $705,000 bail for charges of kidnapping, FCSO B Roquetorture, conspiracy, sexual assault and intimidating a witness.

The most recent arrest of Brandon Roque comes following a Grand Jury hearing where members determined there was probable cause for his arrest. On August 3rd, agents with the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force located Roque and took him into custody. The Grand Jury further decided to indict a total of four suspects in this case who are currently in jail.

On February 16th, 2016, a 13-year-old girl got off the school bus and walked to her home near E. Shepherd and Academy Ave. in Clovis. Once she got near the front door, several masked men approached her, grabbed her and forced her into the trunk of their car. They drove her approximately 20 miles away to the area of Sycamore Road and Coyote Drive in Tollhouse. There they tied her to a tree, beat her up and sexually assaulted her before fleeing the scene. The girl was able to walk a little over a mile and find help from a homeowner in the area who called the Sheriff’s Office. The girl was treated for her injuries.

To date, detectives have arrested four people in this case. They are (pictured below) 47-year-old Sandra Garcia, her sons 24-year-old Mark Anthony Roque and 25-year-old Brandon Roque, all three of Madera. Also arrested is Garcia’s cousin, 46-year-old Miguel Carriedo of Lompoc, CA.

During the investigation, detectives discovered this crime was not a random act. Garcia, who was the girlfriend of the victim’s father, had conspired with the other men to kidnap the teen.

Anyone with additional information about anyone involved in this case is asked to please contact the Sgt. Ericka Rascon at (559) 600-8144 or Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-7867, www.valleycrimestoppers.org You will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
