August 13, 2022 - Merced – Merced PD Gang Unit arrested a man in possession of a firearm, narcotics, and ammunition on Thursday August 11, 2022.
On August 11, 2022, at approximately 11:30 A.M. the Merced Police Departments Gang Violence Suppression Unit followed up on information that Teng Yang (44) was hiding at a residence in the 600 block of Cartmell Dr. Yang was wanted on several felony warrants for a violation of his probation.
As Officers checked the home, Yang was found and arrested. Officers also located approximately 15 grams of methamphetamine and ammunition where Yang was found. An unregistered 9mm handgun was found in the home. The handgun was taken for safekeeping until it is determined through follow up investigation who it belongs to. Yang was booked into Merced County Jail for his warrants, possession of methamphetamine and possession of ammunition by a prohibited person.
