September 28, 2022 - The King City Police Department reports the King City Police Department Department previously identified Elizar Ayron Arellano 20, of King City, CA. as a suspect in the murders king county 928of Carlos Manuel Lopez, Selena Gonzalez Godoy, and Godoy’s unborn child on December 26, 2021.

The King City Police Department subsequently obtained an arrest warrant for three counts of PC 187 – Homicide for Arellano for his involvement in the homicides. Mr. Arellano fled the area after the homicides at which time the Police Department then requested assistance from the United States Marshall’s Service Fugitive Task Force in locating him.

The Marshall’s Service developed information Mr. Arellano was in Tuolumne County.

On September 27, 2022, the Marshall’s Service and officers of the King City Police Department travelled to Tuolumne and Mariposa Counties to locate him. During the search efforts Mr. Arellano was located and arrested in the 6000 Block of Greely Hill Road, Coulterville, CA. by the Marshall’s Service and King City Police Department.

He was subsequently booked into the Mariposa County Jail pending transfer to the Monterey County Jail. After the arrest of Mr. Arellano, a search warrant was served at a residence in the 20000 block of Chapin Road, Groveland, CA.

The King City Police Department would like to thank the United States Marshall’s Service for their investigative efforts and assistance over the past 9 months to locate and apprehend Mr.Arellano. In addition, the King City Police Department would like to thank the Tuolumne County Probation Department, Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office, and Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance throughout the day.
