October 7, 2022 - Mariposa County will be entering into the Ash and Debris Removal portion of Phase 2 of the Consolidated Debris Removal Program the week of Monday, October 10th, 2022.

Property owners who have opted into the program can expect to see crews on burned properties to begin ash and debris removal. This will include several individuals on-site, but also heavy equipment.

Some properties have been identified as having asbestos containing material (ACM) on them. Prior to ash and debris removal, this ACM must be removed, so you may see asbestos removal crews on properties prior to the ash and debris removal.

The general public can expect to see an increase in truck traffic and heavy equipment hauling, especially within the burn scar. Expectations for crews working on the project include awareness of eligible and approved properties as well as safe and courteous driving. Working hours for on-site removal will be 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and approved vendors will have a green placard placed in their vehicle and there will also be a placard on the side of the trucks with a barcode, to further identify them with the County program.

Mariposa County and the supporting teams apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate the awareness of crews on and near roadways over the next several weeks.

Oak Fire survivors are encouraged to continue to communicate with their Fire Case Manager throughout the process. Questions can also be directed to the Debris Removal Operations Center by calling 209-247-7821 or visiting Darrah School House (5991 Darrah Rd, Mariposa, 95338) Mondays through Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
