.DISCUSSION...
Generally mild conditions as we head into the weekend and
Halloween with dry conditions prevailing and temperatures sitting
around 10 degrees above normal. Changes are in order for central-
southern California as we head into Tuesday. A strong frontal
system will dip its way southward bringing with it cooler
temperatures, gusty winds, and precipitation chances for not just
the mountain locations, but also valley floors. Precipitation
will sweep in from the northwest to southeast beginning early
Tuesday morning bringing chances of rain for the lower valleys and
snow for locations above 7,000 feet AGL. Precipitation becomes
much more widespread as we head into Wednesday for all locations
within our forecast area. Snow levels begin to plummet behind the
frontal boundary sitting around 4,000 feet AGL by early Thursday
AM. Precipitation begins to taper off Thursday from the northwest
leaving lingering chances of rain for Kern County by the end of
next week.
