CCC Santa Arrives on Fire EngCoulterville is Celebrating!

November 9, 2022 - Coulterville is back!  In August, the Reader’s Digest designated the town as being the “Nicest Place in America,” This was followed by one of the best ever CoyoteFest events in September and then one of the most exciting and fun Trunk-or-Treats ever in October.  This year’s Christmas in Coulterville, scheduled for Saturday, December 3rd will keep the fun going!

With the help of many residents, shopkeepers and organizations, the Coulterville Community Club will be decorating downtown Coulterville on Saturday, November 19th beginning at 10:00 A.M. Lights will informally get turned on the weekend following Thanksgiving, but the big celebration takes place on the first Saturday of December.

The Merchant’s SIDEWALK SALE, taking place from noon to 5:30 P.M., has 17 vendors (so far) planning on joining Coulterville’s merchants with an array of special holiday merchandise.  Four will offer a variety of jewelry, including fine cut stones, Mayan and Mexa-Art, Native American and other handcrafted rings, necklaces, etc. There will be house plants for gifts to those with green thumbs, jams and jellies, handcrafted fabric, leather, paper and pottery items, potions and lotions.

There will be a Mexican food stand and a fresh fruit cart during the day, and the Coulter Cafe will feature its regular menu through 3:00 P.M. then will reopen from 4:00 P.M. - 5:30 P.M. with a special menu featuring hot dogs, corn dogs, burgers, and fries.

The museum is extending their hours to 5:00 P.M. that day as well, so that families can enjoy the museum and check out their expanded Holiday Gift Bazaar and tree ornament sale.

Christmas in Coulterville on December 3rd!

Ho Ho Ho… Santa’s Paying a Visit to Coulterville!

Parade ~ Costume Contest ~ Tree Lighting ~ Cookiefest ~ Gifts for Kids

At 5:00 P.M., the Santa Claus Parade will take place, with floats, fire engines, carolers, live-stock dressed in their holiday finest, costumed kids participating in the Christmas Costume Contest and of course… Santa Claus!!! The CCC extends a big thank you to the MC Board of Supervisors for formally waiving the permit fee for the parade, as all of the activities are free and open to everyone.  And thank you to all the SCOPE volunteers who will be helping direct traffic that day. (Traffic on Historic Main St., will be diverted by Scope from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.)

After Santa and his entourage alight from their various chariots, Mr. and Mrs. Santa will help light up the Coulterville Christmas Tree and sing a few Christmas carols with everyone.  Then the fun will move into warmer quarters inside the Gazzolo Building, 1015 Main St.  Mr. and Mrs. Santa will hand out gifts to all children. The winners of the costume contest will be announced while everyone is warming up and enjoying the homemade Christmas cookies our local bakers will be sharing and the hot beverages the CCC is providing. All local bakers are encouraged to bring a tray of their favorite Christmas Cookies.

Sign-ups for the Kids Costume Contest will take place the day of the event at the Visitor Center Counter inside the Coulter Cafe.  There are 3 age groups, infant to 5 year olds, 6-12 year olds, and teens; two $20 cash prizes will be awarded in each category.

If you want to help with decorating, bake some cookies, participate in the parade, sing some Christmas Carols, or just want some information, email ccc95311@mail.com.  Remember, participation in all events… contest, parade, sidewalk vendors is free!
