November 10, 2022 - WASHINGTON – Senate Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) has released internal FBI reports detailing its sordid response to chuck grassley senator iowa official photosexual misconduct by FBI employees. The previously-undisclosed records, provided to Grassley by a whistleblower, accompany a letter Grassley sent to the Justice Department Inspector General, seeking an immediate review of the Justice Department’s and FBI’s management of sexual misconduct claims.

Grassley first raised concerns about the internal memos in October. Though the FBI said in news reports that it would respond directly to Grassley’s inquiry, it has failed to do so. Grassley is now calling on the agency watchdog to conduct a full investigation

“FBI employees should not have to suffer under daily abuse and misconduct by their colleagues and supervisors. Accordingly, I am requesting that you immediately open a review of the Justice Department’s and FBI’s management of sexual misconduct claims, including how many employees who separated from federal service before the resolution of an investigation received the required notice in their personnel file, the apparent failure to ensure the Javelin database includes full and complete data, and the unequal application of disciplinary rules,” Grassley wrote in the letter to the Justice Department inspector general.

The documents show that at least 665 employees left the FBI to avoid penalties following sexual misconduct investigations from 2004 to 2020. They also suggest that senior FBI employees received lighter penalties than lower-ranking employees after committing similar misconduct. The Associated Press previously reported on allegations of sexual misconduct in the FBI’s senior ranks.
