November 30, 2022 - Mariposa County sheriff deputies responded to a 911 report of a man with a knife attempting to break into the Mariposa First Baptist Church mariposa county sheriff logo 300/ School today. This incident took place on Frank Wilson Rd. near the First Baptist Church. There was a deputy involved shooting related to this incident and a male subject was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Following the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office policies and procedures, all deputies involved in the shooting were immediately placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.
