This weekend temperatures are on the rise, which could elevate the fire risk in many areas. The National Weather Service has issued a “Red Flag Warning” along the Northern Sierra from Truckee in Nevada County up through Modoc County. The warning is due to strong winds, with gusts up to 40mph, and low humidity. This combination, along with the tinder dry conditions, will elevate the fire danger.
With the weekend approaching CAL FIRE is again urging the public to careful with outdoor activities. Whether its camping, barbequing, or off-road driving, conditions are ripe for a simple spark to ignite a wildfire. One Less Spark means One Less Wildfire. Learn more at www.ReadyForWildfire.org.
