January 9, 2023 – The Mariposa County Unified School District issues the following storm related notice.

Good Afternoon MCUSD Community,

Based on the State of Emergency in California declared by President Biden, and in collaboration with our Mariposa County Partners, classes are canceled for all MCUSD sites tomorrow, Tuesday, January 10, 2023.

This closure will allow staff to evaluate school sites ensuring student and staff safety as well as allow our County Partners the time they need to assess and clear roads in preparation for the next round of storms.

While rain total amounts are fairly predictable, road conditions impacted by mud and debris are not and we feel that this is the best decision based on the information we currently have and out of an abundance of caution. This means that school sites will be utilizing an emergency day in the spring, information to follow.

For those who must travel during this inclimate (sp) weather, please allow yourself extra time, adhere to all road closures and be aware of any road hazards, and get to your destination safely.
