January 11, 2023 - Boating access to Lakes McClure and McSwain will remain closed until further notice.

The closure comes as high winds and rising water create significant safety concerns.

The closure also comes as the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office has asked residents to remain indoors as much as possible.

Both Lakes McClure and McSwain are located within Mariposa County.

“We want to support the request of the Sheriff’s Office here in Mariposa County,” said MID Parks Director Brooke Gutierrez. “It’s simply not safe for people to be on the water at this time.”
