.DISCUSSION...
A cyclone aloft will move southward just off the coast of Southern
California today. Snow showers are possible above 2,500 feet along
Interstate 5 over Tejon Pass and along Highway 58 over Tehachapi
Pass today. Total snow accumulations of an inch or less are
possible from 2,500 feet to 3,500 feet. Snow amounts of one to
two inches are conceivable from 3,500 to 4,500 feet. Total snow
accumulations of two to four inches are possible above 4,500
feet. This snowfall could cause travel delays and/or road
closures. If you must travel, allow plenty of time to reach
your destination.

The aforementioned upper-level area of low pressure will pivot
eastward over Southern California tonight. A ridge of high
pressure will move eastward over the Eastern Pacific Ocean
Tuesday. This ridge of high pressure should make landfall over
the west coast of the United States Tuesday night. The ridge of
high pressure should amplify as it progress eastward across the
Western United States Wednesday through Thursday. A Freeze Warning

morning from late tonight into Wednesday morning. Here are

portion of the forecast area Thursday night into Friday, resulting
in the possibility of light precipitation north of Fresno County.
This is a low probability, low impact scenario. A ridge of high
pressure will move eastward across the Western United States
Friday night through Saturday night. A trough of low pressure may
