February 3, 2023 - Merced – The Merced Police Department reported the following information. On Thursday, February 2, 2023, at approximately 2:51 P.M., the Merced Police Departments Gang Violence Suppression Unit arrested two men during a traffic stop with firearms and Fentanyl for sale.
On February 2, 2023, at approximately 2:51 P.M., Officer Taylor Rocha with the Merced Police Departments Gang Unit conducted a traffic stop in the unit block of West 20th Street. Officer Rocha identified Christopher Yormark (42) and Joshua Passons (35) in the vehicle. Passons who is on Post Release Community Supervision was found to be in possession of approximately 15 grams of Fentanyl and a loaded 9mm Polymer 80 handgun. The driver Yormark was found to be in possession of a loaded 9mm Polymer 80 handgun, and he was also charged for the possession of Fentanyl for sale.
Both Passons and Yormark are prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition. They were both booked into Merced County Jail for several firearm related charges and for sales of Fentanyl.
