February 24, 2023 - Merced – Merced Police Department officials report that on February 22nd just after midnight Officer Moreno observed a vehicle in the area of the Loughborough and Denver Ave. with tinted windows. When he contacted the driver identified as Juan Carlos Gomez-Renteria (23) it was learned that he had no license and warrants for his arrest. During a search of his vehicle a loaded firearm was located. Gomez-Renteria was booked into the Merced County jail for the firearms charge.
