March 1, 2023 – Fresno County continues to experience heavy snow in the Sierra Nevada, making travel hazardous. Please DO NOT make plans to travel to the mountains until roads are deemed safe. It is vital that we keep roadways clear for emergency vehicles only. We appreciate your help in keeping our roads safe.

SR 168 will remain closed at Lodge Rd. in Prather.

Auberry Rd. remains closed from Jose Basin Rd. to SR 168 to everyone except residents.

Tollhouse Rd. also remains closed from Lodge Rd. to SR 168 to everyone except residents.

The Fresno County Office of Emergency Services and the Red Cross have opened a shelter to assist residents of Dunlap, Miramonte, and Squaw Valley who have been without power or running water. The shelter is in the Reedley College Gymnasium at 995 N. Reed Avenue in Reedley, California.

A second shelter has been opened in Prather to assist residents of Prather, Auberry, and Shaver Lake areas without power. This shelter is at Foothill Elementary, 29147 Auberry Road in Prather, California.

Residents are asked only to bring essentials such as medication, clothes, and toiletries. Pets that can be kenneled are allowed. Both shelters are ADA- compliant and will have restrooms and showers. The Red Cross is providing cots, blankets, pillows, and a few meals. The shelters will remain open until power is restored to the areas mentioned.
