TRAFFIC ADVISORY
State Route 140 Closed in Midpines Due to Rockslides
March 1, 2023 - MARIPOSA COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) temporarily closed State Route 140 in Midpines due to rockslides at approximately 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2023.
Traffic currently is being turned around at Bear Creek. Caltrans is hoping to reopen the roadway perhaps as early as Wednesday evening.
District 10 Maintenance crews worked safely and quickly to remove snow off Route 140, then turned their attention to clearing three slides that fortunately were not as severe as the rockslide on January 15, 2023, that temporarily closed Route 140 between Midpines and Briceburg.
