March 2, 2023 - The National Weather Service Hanford Office reports a Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the Sierra Nevada from Yosemite NP to Sequoia NP from Saturday afternoon until early Monday morning.

Expect significant snow down to around 3,000 feet, although snow levels will be mainly around 2,000 to 2,500 feet.

Expect 2-3 feet of snow above 4,000 feet and 1-2 feet of snow above 3,000 feet in Yosemite NP to Fresno County.

A dusting of snow is possible down to 1,000 feet in the Sierra Nevada foothills on Sunday night.

MONDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 12
  inches to 3 feet. Winds gusting as high as 70 mph over the
  crest and exposed ridgetops.

* WHERE...Sierra Nevada mainly above 3,000 feet from Yosemite
  National Park to Sequoia National Park.

* WHEN...From 10 AM Saturday to 4 AM PST Monday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible with the
  potential for prolonged road closures. Very strong winds could
  cause extensive tree damage. Whiteout conditions are possible at
  times. Cold wind chills as low as 25 below zero could cause
  frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow levels around 2000 to 2500 ft,
  although a dusting of snow is possible down to around 1,000 feet
  on Sunday night. Heaviest snow expected from late Saturday
  afternoon into Sunday morning.
