March 6, 2023 - Mariposa County officials remind everyone that as the next storm approaches, here are some reminders about driving in winter weather.

- If you don’t have to drive, don’t.

- If you have to drive, check road conditions and weather before you head out. Aim to travel before the storm hits.

- Traffic rules still exist.

- If your wipers are on, your lights must be on.

- Clear all the snow off your vehicle, not just the windshield.

- Put chains on your vehicle as soon as you enter a chain required area. Do this in a safe place, not in the middle of the roadway or right on the shoulder.

- Give yourself 3x the stopping room when following other vehicles and on turns or at stop signs.
