March 14, 2023 - National Weather Service Hanford Office officials report there is a Flood Advisory for the San Joaquin Valley until 12:45 P.M. today.
Minor flooding in low-lying or poor drainage areas and water over roadways could be caused by excessive rainfall.
Be prepared and turn around, don't drown if you come across a flooded area.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Portions of central California and northern California,
including the following counties, in central California, Fresno,
Kern, Kings, Madera, Mariposa, Merced and Tulare. In northern
California, Tuolumne.
* WHEN...Until 1245 PM PDT Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 440 AM PDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor
flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the
advisory area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Fresno, Bakersfield, Visalia, Clovis, Merced, Madera, Tulare,
Porterville, Hanford, Delano, Atwater, Yosemite South
Entrance, Los Banos, Wasco, Corcoran, Lemoore, Sanger,
Reedley, Selma and Dinuba.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
