March 18, 2023 - Merced – Merced Police Department officials report that Chance Pouncy (27) was arrested on felony warrants, trespassing, providing a merced police departmentfalse name, and possession of a controlled substance.

On Friday, March 17th, 2023, at 1:19 P.M., officers were patrolling residential areas that were subjected to evacuation due to flood concerns near the 1700 block of W. North Bear Creek. Officers saw Chance Pouncy (27) and Elizabeth Roodra (41) loitering in the area and they fled from officers. Once detained, Pouncy lied about his name. Through further investigation, it was determined Pouncy was using a fake name. He was identified from prior contacts with officers.

Pouncy was arrested after officers established he was a parolee-at-large and had an outstanding felony warrant. Pouncy was booked into the Merced County Jail for the warrants, possession of a controlled substance, trespassing, and providing a false name to law enforcement officers.
