After Lauren Rust and two minor children got out of the vehicle the truck caught on fire, quickly spreading to vegetation. Emergency crews responded to the fire. One lane traffic control was established for north and south bound traffic until 6:15 P.M. when the fire crews cleared the scene.
Lauren Rust had a minor complaint of pain and one of the minor children had a small avulsion to his back.
Mariposa area CHP Officer Steven Lewis would like to remind motorists to not drive distracted and keep a high visual horizon when driving. He said, "Driving is a complex task, requiring a motorist's full attention."
