April 19, 2023 - Fresno County Sheriff's Office officials report that homicide detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the murder of 40-Fresno County Sheriff logoyear-old Danny Ramirez. The victim, who also went by the name of Dennis Rodriguez, was living homeless on the streets of Mendota.

Shortly after 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 16th, Mendota Police responded to a report of an injured person. Officers arrived at an apartment complex on Oller Street, between Fourth and Fifth Streets and found a man lying in a carport suffering from traumatic injuries. He was determined to be deceased.

Mendota Police requested the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office take over the investigation. Homicide detectives and members of our Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene to collect evidence and interview people living nearby. Ramirez was last seen alive the night of April 15th.
