April 23, 2023 - Fresno County Sheriff's Office officials report homicide detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office have arrested 27-year-old Christopher Chacon for stabbing and killing his 73-year-old grandfather, Jose Espinoza. Chacon also stabbed and injured three other family members. They are all expected to survive. Chacon has been booked into the Fresno County Jail on one count of murder and three counts of attempted murder. His bail is set at $2.5 million.

Around 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Fresno County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a home on the 8100 block of S. Hughes Ave. for an assault with a deadly weapon. This is located between Easton and Raisin City. Deputies arrived and found multiple people suffering from stab wounds. One man died at the scene; three others were transported to the hospital. Deputies detained the suspect, Christopher Chacon. This is an isolated incident as all the people are relatives of one another who were living together at this home. This is an ongoing investigation.
