September 15, 2015 - CAL FIRE reports this morning over 13,000 firefighters are battling 12 large fires across California. While temperatures are cooler than they were last week, conditions remain extremely dry, which allow fires to burn at a rapid rate.

With major destruction from the Valley Fire and the Butte Fire, fire officials advise the public to spend some time to ensure they are prepared for wildfires. CAL FIRE recommends that all residents be prepared for wildfire by CAL FIREremembering “Ready, Set, Go!” The second step in “Ready, Set, Go!” is set. Being set consists of an emergency meeting location, a family communication plan, and escape routes. Now is the time to create a wildfire action plan and the entire family needs to be familiar with it well in advance of a wildfire. Learn how to create a wildfire action plan at www.ReadyForWildfire.org.
